Nowadays, various AI tools are emerging one after another. We are familiar with ChatGPT, which showcases its powerful AI capabilities primarily in the form of a conversational assistant. For existing internet applications and services, integrating AI more effectively might offer a more concrete solution. For example, Notion has already integrated AI into its product services. In a recent update, Notion introduced several new AI features designed to help users complete tasks more efficiently, saving time and increasing productivity.
First, Notion AI has added new connectors that allow the AI to search trusted knowledge sources. Users simply need to grant access to the relevant platforms, and the AI can retrieve Slack conversations linked to Notion and documents stored in Google Drive. In the future, users will also be able to connect their Jira and GitHub accounts—navigating so many information sources can be tedious, so why not let the AI find the documents you need?
Creating and editing documents based on personal language style is a feature supported by many AI tools. In Notion AI, users can guide the AI to generate or edit articles that align with their style by @mentioning relevant pages, such as referring to specific document styles, project guidelines, or feedback. Additionally, users can use AI to translate documents into other languages.
In work and study, we often receive lengthy research reports that contain important information but can be time-consuming to read. By conversing with Notion AI, users can send PDF documents to the AI, which will extract key information and output the results.
During everyday editing, when users select a portion of text in a document, Notion AI will prompt them with a floating menu that highlights available AI functionalities. For example, clicking “Enhance Collaboration” allows the AI to help with editing, or clicking “Ask AI” lets users converse with the AI, seamlessly integrating it into daily tasks.
Users can interact with Notion AI just like they would with ChatGPT. Notion AI can access language models like GPT-4 and Claude, allowing users to ask about any topic and quickly add the responses to the current page without needing to copy and paste from a separate tab.
Notion AI also includes an integrated help center, so users can directly ask the AI for assistance and learn how to use the new features of Notion. Currently, these new Notion AI features are fully launched, so friends who frequently use Notion might want to give these AI-based functionalities a try.
