Failing to plan is planning to fail. When plans are well made, things tend to go more smoothly. Lightplan is an open-source app focused on plan management. Unlike other apps that offer high flexibility to users, it takes a different approach by dividing the year into four fixed quarters, with all planning cycles bound within this framework. This unique design is quite interesting and different.
When you open the app’s homepage, the first thing you’ll notice is a countdown, followed by a main plan and four fixed sub-plans. These four sub-plans represent the four quarters of the year, and they can’t be changed. This design immediately brings to mind the reality that 3/4 of 2024 is already gone, and now we need to focus on how to make the most of the remaining quarter.
By clicking on any sub-plan, you can treat it as a new main plan and continue to break it down further into more detailed sub-plans. Lightplan is designed to support this kind of nesting, allowing you to continue until your plans are as detailed and clear as needed. Of course, whether this logic is reasonable or not is a matter of personal opinion.
Apart from the fixed sub-plans on the homepage, other levels of sub-plans can be adjusted according to your needs, such as setting deadlines and repeat cycles. Lightplan not only offers an open-source app version but also provides a web version that can be added to your desktop as a PWA for easier access.
You can download Lightplan directly through Vipdown to give it a try.
